11.
Shortly after Jennifer went off to find Will, a shadow fell over Tess, blocking the sun. She opened her eyes to find their host, standing beside her chair.
“Will, how are you?”
“I’m good, and you?”
“Fantastic.”
“You certainly look it,” he said, his eyes running over her body.
“Thanks. Please, have a seat,” she said pointing to the chair beside hers. “Did Jenn find you? She just left.”
“No, I haven’t seen her, but I’m sure we’ll catch up later. Does she know about your ‘lessons’ with Eve?”
“Not yet, but she will, trust me.”
“I see. By the way, is that the chain you were looking for? I like it.” he said, gazing at her breasts through the sheer fabric.
“It is, yes! And I have to thank you again,” Tess said smiling. “That reminds me, did you have any luck with my other request?”
“As a matter of fact I did.” Will turned to search the pool deck and a few moments later waved to a tall, handsome, black man on the far side. The man returned the wave and Will motioned for him to come over.
With the grace of a skilled swimmer, he took two steps and dove into the pool, hardly making a splash. He traveled the width of the pool underwater, emerging at the edge near where they sat.
As he hauled himself out effortlessly, the water cascading from his muscular body, Tess found she was holding her breath.
He approached them, shaking hands with Will, and Tess couldn’t take her eyes off him. The way the water sparkled on his dark skin, his muscles rippling with every move. And best of all, his tight white swim trunks.
He was saying something, but Tess didn’t hear it right away, she just kept staring at him.
Her head spun around when Will touched her arm. “Are you alright?”
“What?” she asked. “Oh yes. Yes I’m fine, thanks,” she said, quite embarrassed. She looked back up at the man’s face. He looked like someone she knew, but it couldn’t be him. Could it?
“Like I was saying, I’d like you to meet-”
“Marcus,” she finished for him. Tess turned to Will, then back to Marcus, then back to Will in disbelief. “Marcus? That’s him?” she asked.
“It is,” replied Will.
“I can’t believe it! All this time, and you’ve been sitting ten feet away from me,” she exclaimed.
Marcus shrugged, “I didn’t know about you either.”
“Wait! That day when we got the email about this weekend. I heard your phone,” she said.
Marcus worked in the same office, only two cubicles away from her. She worked with him from time to time, but didn’t really know him that well. She always thought he was cute, but never expected the toned, muscular body she was now staring at. She hadn’t recognized him at the penthouse party, and now that she knew who the mystery man was, Tess didn’t know if she could go through with it. It might make things awkward back in the real world.
She voiced her concerns, before things went too far. Marcus nodded his understanding, promising he’d do his best not to make things weird back in the office, but admitted he’d had a crush on her for months, which made Tess blush.
When Marcus sat beside her, resting his hand on her thigh she felt a spark. He told her there was no pressure, and he would see her back in the office in a few days. But if she was interested in something more, they could work it out. Since they knew one another, masks were not an option. He suggested she could wear a blindfold, or they could meet in a darkened room, if that would make her feel more comfortable, but she shook her head.
He smiled at her response, and said, “That’s good, because I can’t wait to look into your eyes while you’re bouncing on top of me.” Hearing those words, she nearly wet herself.
Tess was speechless, and so flustered, she had to excuse herself. But before leaving, she kissed Marcus on the cheek, promising to meet later.
As she stood, she turned to Will and mouthed the words “I owe you.”
