SOAK: Sexual Opinions, Attitudes, & Knowledge Study (Everyone, 18+, Fluent in English)

Hi everyone!

We are the SWELL Lab at the University of British Columbia. We are a group of psychological scientists who conduct multi-method research to identify risk and protective factors contributing to individuals’ and couples’ sexual health and well-being.

We are currently seeking individuals who are interested in participating in a ~30 minute survey on knowledge and attitudes about sexuality! The Institutional Research Ethics Board at UBC has approved this study and the ethics ID number is as follows: H20-04025. All participants and identities will be kept strictly confidential, and data collection is anonymous, meaning that we will not collect any personal identifiers within the survey. Data will be identified only by a code number.

To participate, click the following link to begin the survey: [https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3vzZ6RsG8PR1x2u](https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3vzZ6RsG8PR1x2u)

Here’s what some of our most recent participants had to say after completing the survey:“

I found out things about myself when answering questions about my sexual relationship”

“It made me think about some aspects of sex that I had never thought of before”

  1. Just took the survey. Very thoughtfully assembled with some thought-provoking questions.

  2. Really enjoyed this survey. Hope you get a good variety of responses for your research!

  3. This is so cool!! It’s way more inclusive of trans people than I ever expect these kinds of surveys to be, it’s really neat to see :D

  4. This posts promised 30 minutes. The website says 45. It took me about 15.

  5. For how depressed that survey just made me, it should end with at least a grade. Like tell me how right all my answers were to even out the shame and embarrassment of how many times I had to select “no sex in the past 4 weeks” or “does not apply”. 😭🔫

  6. A very well put together survey. The answer options leave no room for my usual frustration of not finding a suitable answer that applies to me. You can see it’s professionally made. And surprisingly very inclusive approach to gender. Let’s help out our fellow academics in their study!
